What is Teosyal RHA 4?
Teosyal RHA 4 is a transparent, sterile, injectable hyaluronic acid dermal filler used to restore volume to the skin or augment facial features. It is comprised of of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, as well as lidocaine hydrochloride (an anesthetic). Teosyal may only be injected into deep wrinkles, scars, or other depressions by authorized medical professionals.

What are the benefits of this product?
Teosyal, a product of Teoxane, is a temporary dermal filler used for volume restoration in the face. This dermal filler is uniquely formulated with resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA), which was specifically developed to withstand the pressures of facial movement. Under dynamic environments, such as when the gel is stretched or compressed, RHA adapts and retains its filling action. Another advantage of this product is that with added lidocaine, insertion is essentially painless.
How does this product work?
Like other dermal fillers, Teosyal works by adding hyaluronic acid subcutaneously. The hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate and support the skin, restoring volume. Teosyal contains a mixture of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which lasts longer within the skin before breaking down, and non-modified hyaluronic acid, which acts more like natural hyaluronic acid within the skin, stretching and moving with ease. These substances gradually break down within your client’s skin, absorbing into the body.
What are the ingredients?
This formulation contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid (23mg), lidocaine hydrochloride (3mg), and a phosphate buffer (pH 7.3, qs ad 1ml).
How to inject/administer this product?
Please note that you may need to perform 2 treatments, depending on the client’s individual needs and the condition of their skin. Only trained and qualified medical professionals should inject Teosyal. To use properly, slowly inject the filler into your client’s subcutaneous fat tissue following the trajectory you desire. Use the quantity and injection technique appropriate for the injection site. Remember to stop the injection well before pulling out the needle to avoid hyaluronic acid flowing out of the treatment area. Moreover, avoid injecting too shallowly, or you may have irregular results. After the injection, gently massage the area to ensure the hyaluronic acid is distributed smoothly. When should I use this product?
Plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and other doctors use Teosyal to restore volume lost through lipoatrophy from aging, premature aging, or illness, or to add volume for facial augmentation.
What areas can I treat with this product?
You can use Teosyal to augment the cheeks or upper cheeks, correct minor ptosis, correct the lower eyelids, fill deep wrinkles in thick skin, correct the appearance of scars, or redefine the contours of the face. Its hyaluronic acid content also helps to hydrate the skin. Choose Teosyal for areas of the face that engage in constant mobility, as this filler stretches with the skin to allow for natural movement.
How long do results last?
Teosyal usually lasts about 6 to 9 months within the skin, so your clients should expect to return to your clinic once or twice a year for touch-ups.

Patients who are experiencing extensive facial volume loss due to age in areas such as the cheeks or in the contours of the face are suited to undergo treatment with Teosyal. These clients should not have any allergies to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine.

Are there any side effects?
After a Teosyal injection, your clients could experience side-effects like redness (erythema), swelling, and discomfort at the injection site, but these should resolve within a few days. Your client could also experience side-effects like discoloration, itching, hematoma, abscesses, indurations (hardness), nodules or granulomas, skin necrosis, migration of the implant, and sensitivity in the area of the injection. Teosyal could also cause hypersensitivity or anaphylactic shock. This list may not include all possible side-effects of this product.
